- This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This photo depicts the Ingersoll House, located on Queen Street in St. Marys. Members of the Ingersoll family built, owned and lived in the house from the time the first portion of this stone dwelling was constructed in 1843 until the death of Lillian Ingersoll in 1962, who a great-granddaughter of the original builder. The house itself illustrates the importance of the river in the growth and development of St. Marys, and is one of the oldest houses in the area. It was designated as a historic building by the Town of St. Marys in 1987.
