Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This photo is of Queen Street, looking east and highlights the north side of the street. From the angle of the photograph a couple of store signs are in view, such as "J. ready Fine Shoes" as well as "W. C. Box Groceries, crockery and Glassware." Farther up Queen Street the roof and tower of town hall are visible and the photographer has managed to capture some of the detail on the building. Some of that detail includes sandstone-and-limestone chequerboard trim and the sandstone-rimmed round arches visible above the windows in this photo. Also visible at the front of the building is a circular turret.

This postcard has been used and on the backside is a stamp with the date Mar. 25, 1908.
Notes
Condition: Good- all four corners are worn and along the bottom edge the image has begun to fade. In the upper right quadrant there is a small, brown coloured mark.
