Description
A photo giving a view of the North Ward and the dam in winter. The photo was taken before the dam was extended across the Thames River in 1907. The photo was likely taken sometime between 1898 and 1901. The steeple of the Presbyterian Church is visible in the photo. The top of the St. Marys Collegiate building (later Arthur Meighen Public School) can be seen above the tree line on the left side of the photo, the building is now demolished. Just behind the dam the Humphris, Richardson and Humphris planing mill is situated on the river. The mill would later house the Parkview Creamery. This photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor.
