Description
This photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor in 1900. The photo shows a whistle stop in 1900 with former Canadian Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier standing on the observation platform of his private car. The location of the stop is at the Elizabeth Street Switch, a Grand Trunk Railway Depot once located in St. Marys. The Switch was eventually replaced in 1907 by the current Via Station. Laurier is visible on the back right side of the car, wearing a long coat and top hat.
