- This photo was taken in 1950 aboard the SS Volendam ocean liner. The passengers and crew are standing on deck, looking out over the St. Lawrence River towards Quebec City. The Chateau Frontenac hotel can be seen at the top of the hill in the distance, with Old Quebec below. The ship was taking immigrants from the Netherlands to Montreal, Quebec.
