- Description
- Several houses in St. Marys and rural Ontario were built with an appearance similar to this example located at 32 St. Andrew Street South. The house has a white horizontal siding exterior, painted since this photo was taken. The home features elaborate details such as the lower hexagonal shaped room, the spoolwork and frills along the fretwork of the veranda, and the lace-like ginger breading under the gabled roof. This house is a great example of the eclecticism used in late 19th century house design. Additions have been added to the back of the house, however the original structure remains.
