- Description
- A photo of the Methodist Church in St. Marys. The church is located at 85 Church Street South.
The Methodist Church was built in 1879. On June 10, 1925, members of the Methodist congregation and the two Presbyterian congregations joined to form a single community, The St. Marys United Church. Since then, the church has remained known as the United Church and the congregation is located on the same site to this day.
The photo displays the church with its tall tower and spire. The spire was struck by lightning in the 1940s, and was never replaced. - Notes
