- Description
- This picture was taken in the Old Central School and shows Miss Gordon's Jr 3rd Class. The old building was constructed in 1857 and opened the following year, it was in use for over half a century before it became too dilapidated and small for further use. This photo was taken in the later part of that time. In 1914 the Old Central School was torn down and the new school in the same location opened in 1915. By the 1960's the school was only for the lower primary grades and the upper grades have been moved to Arthur Meighen Public School. Central School closed in 2010 and is now a series of upscale apartments.
