This is a view of the South River Falls North Channel and due to the visible high water flow, the photo must have been taken during a freshet.
The goverment road bridge is visible upstream with the R.R. coal shed in the background. What appears to be poles standing at the left end of the coal shed are in fact the smokestacks of the South River Lumber Co. Saw Mill located behind the coal shed on Main Street. Using the visible smoke stacks and the lack of visible Hydro improvments, the date of this photo would be pre 1909-10
