This is a photo of my Great-Grandparents Christian and Rosanna (nee Dunbar) Dunker. My Grandmother is the young lady wearing glasses just over Christian's shoulder,to the right. Her name was Louisa Ellen Dunker and she was my Mother's Mother. She married William Warren McGirr and lived on the Dunker homestead which is the house that you see in the background. My Grandparents had 5 children. Raymond McGirr, Rose Ellen McGirr, Charles McGirr, Roxy Isabel McGirr(my Mother) and Evelyn Alice McGirr. This house was built by Christian and is still standing today. We love to drop by and walk around the property whenever we are visiting the area. My Great Grandparents are both buried in Siloam Cemetary in South River.

Hi Dianne,
My father, Bill McGirr, is your cousin I last saw you when I was 10-years-old at my grandmother's (Lillian Sarah Graham) funeral in 1985.
First off, how are you? I hope that you and those closest to you are in good health. Mom (Pam) and dad are doing great. They have been empty nesters for a few years now grandparents for longer and best friends the longest.
I came across this comment while searching for my great-grandfather, William Warren, and any information related to him. I have traced the McGirr family tree back about 300 years and am curious about the family lineage. Recently, I've subscribed myself to 23andme.com, a website and organization that studies the broader scope of genealogy through DNA. As a member of Ancestry.com, I've been able to obtain some old records as well, on not only the McGirr's but on those who married into the family, such as our Louisa Ellen Dunker.
Thank you so much for making this picture available for people like myself to discover I've already copied it to my files so that I can share with dad (& Aunt Marg & Uncle Bob).
If you'd like to touch base, I can be contacted at tedm1974@gmail.com. I'd say "let's do coffee" but I live in Alberta these days as my air force career has taken me all over. I'm currently living between Edmonton (where I serve) and Calgary (where my bride-to-be Lindsey resides) I'm also the proud father of Elora Raine and Eldon William from my first marriage, they are 11 and 8, respectively.
I hope to hear from you,
Ted McGirr

Beautiful picture. Christian would have been my great great grandfather on my dad side.

I love this picture of great great grandpa Christian and his family. Glad we found each other Dianne and I am sure that they are shaking their heads in amazement how much we are alike.
