Julius Detta (originally Dette) was born in Hettstedt, Germany on September 28, 1842. He died July 23, 1911 and is buried in Findlater, Saskatchewan. His wife, pictured, Louisa (Gragon/Krege) Detta is buried in the Rye Cemetary. Their daughter, Louisa Antonia Augusta Detta was born Sept. 2, 1870 in Hettstedt, Germany, and married John Herman Sohm on April 18, 1892. She died on April 13, 1955 and is buried in the Eagle Lake Cemetery.
Thanks.
The Detta name was actually Dette in Germany, but in the early 1900's in the censuses, it was misspelled and became Detta - and actually was spelled this way on the 1901 Naturalization Act that I have for my great grandfather.
