- Description
- Two men dressed in black suits with black hats, standing in front of wooden house.
- Notes
- The man on the right is identified as a member of the Heinze Family. The original homestead on Black Bay Road, Petawawa was located next to St. John's Lutheran Church. The original family homestead was built in the 1860s, and was sold in 1984 and then again in 1986. The home was dismantled, piece by piece, and reassembled in Ingleside on the St. Lawrence River. The board and batten exterior covered a log structure with perfectly hewn corner joints. The perfectly sound base log was two feet wide to support the walls and floor joists, and the rafters were pegged (wood) rather than nailed. On November 23, 1895 the property was deeded to August Gutzman from Paul and Caroline (nee Gutzman) Dannhauer.
