- The people depicted in this photograph are Paul Dannhauer and his wife, Caroline Dannhauer (nee Gutzman). In 1867 they homesteaded on Black Bay Road, beside St. John's Lutheran Church. They were accompanied by Caroline's brother, Carl, and her mother, Albertina. The Dannhauers moved out West to Stony Plain, Alberta in 1895, where this photograph was taken. Prior to the move, the Homestead was sold to Caroline's brother, Charles Gutzmann. The property for the Lutheran Church was donated by the Dannhauers.
