- John Aubrey Morphy enlisted in June 1915, so this must have been taken shortly before he left to go overseas. He served as a Major in England and France with the 37th Battalion, the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, and the 5th Battalion of the Canadian Engineers. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and returned home in May 1919
