Description
Black and white photo of the exterior of burning McLaughlin Carriage Works.
Notes
The factory originally was built to manufacture furniture by T. N. Gibbs. The McLaughlin family purchased the building in 1892 for the manufacture of carriages. There was a devestating fire in 1899, during which time the family worked elsewhere, and returned to Oshawa after the reconstruction. The factory began to produce cars in 1907.
