- Bishop Bethune College was incorporated in 1889, and was a boarding and day school for girls which was run by the Anglican Church It was named in honour of the second Bishop of Toronto, and was championed by Reverend Canon Middleton of St. George's Church in Oshawa. The college closed in 1932.
