- Description
- Oshawa's officials stepped back in time when an old-fashioned town crier, Gord Proctor, helped them proclaim the city's 60th anniversary, celebrated during the summer, at the same time as Ontario's bicentennial. Special activities, including a musical showcase, were planned to coincide with Canada Day on July 1st. Constable Ed Brake (left) and Judge Richard J. Mundy lent a note of solemnity to the occasion, as Mayor Allan Pilkey listened to the declaration.
