Wednesday Sept. 20/44 Dear Mrs. Rundle. This is just a short note to thank you & the ladies of the Air Force Auxiliary for the box of candy & the swell birthday card which I received today. Needless to say, the candy was deeply appreciated by the whole barracks & I have orders to thank you for them also. I haven't got an awful lot to write about as up till now I haven't had any exciting experiences in the Air Force. It's been a lot of fun & now that I'm just about ready to get into the fighting, I'm happy that I was able to get into the Air Force.
