- Black-and-white photograph of damages sustained during a fire at King and Simcoe Streets in Oshawa on 2 March 1944.
- Notes
- The Bassett Block fire (King and Simcoe Streets) occured on 2 March 1944. It took firefighters about 7 hours to contain the blaze, and there was approximately $125,000 in damages. Four families were left homeless after the fire (Oshawa Times, 12 Jan 1961).
