- Lyn Goldenthal is largely a self-taught artist. A realist painter who studies life and people, he prefers to work in acrylics. Now living in Willowdale, Goldenthal regularly participates in several juried group shows in the Metro Toronto area.

- In 1987 the Newmarket Public Library (NPL) was very fortunate to be the beneficiary of a donation intended for works of art and books relating to art by Dorothy and Jim Bowman and their daughter Carol Bowman. The funds were invested in trust for this purpose until 1998 when a collection of works of art was selected and purchased to form a permanent gallery in the Library.
