- Ron Lockhart worked in the advertising business in Toronto for 30 years, before moving to Coldwater to devote more time to painting and appreciating the environment. His paintings have been reproduced by Simcoe County and by Ducks Unlimited.

- In 1987 the Newmarket Public Library (NPL) was very fortunate to be the beneficiary of a donation intended for works of art and books relating to art by Dorothy and Jim Bowman and their daughter Carol Bowman. The funds were invested in trust for this purpose until 1998 when a collection of works of art was selected and purchased to form a permanent gallery in the Library.
