- John Molnar (1960 – 2010) was known for his lush landscapes in oil and casein, and was considered a master of the latter medium. Over his career, John had seven solo shows, was the subject of feature articles in American and Canadian art magazines, and the book "My Friends, Today’s Great Masters" edited by Maggie Price. - In 1987 the Newmarket Public Library (NPL) was very fortunate to be the beneficiary of a donation intended for works of art and books relating to art by Dorothy and Jim Bowman and their daughter Carol Bowman. The funds were invested in trust for this purpose until 1998 when a collection of works of art was selected and purchased to form a permanent gallery in the Library.
