- Notes
- Sheila Ghazarian is a Newmarket artist and art instructor. The subjects in her paintings, sculptures or etchings attempt to describe relationships with nature and her surroundings. The painting "Food Chain" shows a murky ocean floor with few remaining aquatic life forms. It voices my concerns, that we are polluting our oceans, our waters, our resources. This disregard for the planet and its life forms, spirals us towards an uncertain future.

- Donor
- In 1987 the Newmarket Public Library (NPL) was very fortunate to be the beneficiary of a donation intended for works of art and books relating to art by Dorothy and Jim Bowman and their daughter Carol Bowman. The funds were invested in trust for this purpose until 1998 when a collection of works of art was selected and purchased to form a permanent gallery in the Library.
