- A professional black and white head and shoulders portrait of Lieutenant Colonel William Moir Gartshore who became president of the McClary Manufacturing Company of London, Ontario after the death of his father-in-law, John McClary in 1921. Born in Dundas, Ontario in 1853, William Gartshore would become a successful businessman yet also serve some thirty years in the military.
Three years after arriving in London as superintendent of the London Car Wheel Company in 1873, he would marry Catherine McClary and join her father's business.
As a businessman and philanthropist he was also associated with such organizations as the Ontario Loan and Debenture Company, the Queen Alexandra Sanatorium, St. John's Ambulance Association and Western Fair. He died in London in 1931.

The map location is 90 Ridout Street South the former location of Col. Gartshore's residence, Beechwood. The house was demolished in 1972.
