- Description
- Black and white portrait of James Bryce. This well dressed and groomed gentleman, with grey hair and beard, is seated in front of a desk, with pen in hand.
- Notes
- This undated photograph, which may have been taken ca. 1911, has been card mounted. The card is damaged along the bottom and has been repaired with tape. The handwritten inscription beneath the photograph appears to be James Bryce's signature.
The Hon. James Bryce (1838-1922) served as the British Ambassador to the United States (1907-1913) and visited London in April 1911. He spoke at the Normal School on Saturday April 22, 1911 (LFP April 24, 1911) and attended St. Paul's Cathedral on Sunday April 23, 1911 (noted in the E. Da La Hook Diary within the Seaborn Collection of diaries p. 386).
The map shows the location of the Normal School where the Hon. James Bryce spoke in 1911.
