- Description
- A smartly outfitted, unidentified young, mustached cadet seated on a chair stares directly into the camera in this formally posed black and white print. He is wearing a tailored, close fitting jacket with a stiff upright collar with three vertical stripes. On his head is a jauntily set pillbox hat. The long sleeves of his jacket are adorned with substantial braiding and the insignia above it appears to be crossed rifles below a crown. A dark sash across his chest hides some of the crested military buttons on his jacket and he has on a wide belt. He holds a pair of dark gloves in one hand, in the other a military stick.
- Notes
- The photograph is mounted on a thick black card which is embossed with a frame and ornamentation at the top, which contains a crown, and at the bottom with what may be a knight's helmet.
