- Description
- A black and white print showing the southeast corner of Dundas and Richmond Streets. Several buildings can be seen along the east side of Richmond Street to the south of Dundas Street. The name A. Morphy can be seen above the door on the corner building. There are people standing on the street.
- Notes
- This building at the southeast corner of Dundas and Richmond Streets, called the Edge Block, was built in 1875 (London Free Press May 18, 1875 p.1) by William Edge. A marker at the top of the building saying "Edge Block" is hard to see in this photograph. It is more visible in the photograph entitled "Dundas and Richmond Streets looking east, London, Ontario".
The London Free Press Sept. 28, 1918 p.3 has an article about the funeral of W.T. Edge, owner of the Edge Block. At the time, he was one of the oldest druggists in Canada.
There is a handwritten inscription on the back of the photograph. PG B5 - Inscriptions
