Description

A black and white photograph with a view of the streetscape on the south side of Dundas Street approximately midway between Richmond and Clarence Streets. In the right foreground can be seen the storefront for A. Neuberger, Tailor and Clothier with a row of jackets hung across the top of the glass paned display windows. A wagon is parked on the dirt street by the wooden sidewalk in front of the next building, Reid's Crystal Hall. Signage for Reid's is partly visible on the side of the this building and evidence of Reid's crockery and glassware are on display in windows on the first and second floors. Numerous other storefronts are seen to the east and also partly obscured signage on the building beside the Crystal Hall. Down the street to the east, a horse and wagon are parked close to the sidewalk in front of several gentlemen. The names Howell and McIntosh can be made out on a sign on a storefront beyond them.

Notes

The inscription does not appear on the digital copy. Reid's Crystal Hall was built in 1873 and collapsed during a renovation to the building in 1907. PG L54
