Saunders, W.E. (William Edwin, 1861-1943)
His father came to London in 1849 and founded a
pharmaceutical firm. W.E. was professor of practical
chemistry at London Medical School 1884—1889, founder
of the Mcllwraith Ornithological Club of London, first
president of the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and
served in that capacity from 1931 'til his death in
1943. Other groups he was an active member of were
Ontario Entomological Society, London Horticultural
Society among others. He was especially famous as an
