(May 8, 1871) which is the first mention of a
catalogue of Mechanics Institute books (M.l. being the
predecessor of LPL). This early catalogue was
probably just an author catalogue.

instead Minute Book of the Mechanics Institute from
May l871—May 1876, p.3 (in Book 4).
