BELLS

"The big bell for the city arrived via Great

Western and will be erected without delay in

the belfry of the City Hall. We understand that

it is intended to be rung for the first time on

Dominion Day. L.F.P. Je 24,1869"

July 3, 1869

The new bell has been duly hung over the

city hall and has begun to ring at regular

intervals taking the place of the old worn out

one on the market. It has been heard

two miles out in the country.
