Bathing suits — free at municipal pools
"Restrict Issue of Bathing Suits; municipal pools plan
to save money on this item." London Advertiser,
(evening ed) July 14, 1925, p.13
Bathing suits were issued free of charge to all
children visiting municipal bathing camps and Thames
Park Pool. The PUC (Public Utilities Commission)
then decided to restrict the use of free suits; only
those who did not own a bathing suit would be issued
free suits. Laundry bills were becoming too high.
