Is the gallows yard the covered building? Is the laundry yard that giant space with the slope?
THANKS FOR GETTING IN TOUCH. SINCE HANGINGS WERE OFTEN PUBLIC AND IN THE OPEN AIR, IT IS UNLIKELY THE GALLOWS YARD WAS A COVERED BUILDING. AS FOR THE LAUNDRY, THAT IS A MYSTERY WE HAVE NOT THE STAFF TO TACKLE. HOWEVER, IF YOU CAN COME TO THE LONDON ROOM (3RD FLOOR, CENTRAL LIBRARY) WE HAVE MATERIAL WHICH MIGHT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING BY CONTACTING US AT RESEARCH.REQUEST@LPL.CA
