Notes

Doris Short, born ca. 1916, was the daughter of Victor S. and Marjorie E. Short. Doris, a well known child actress, played with Jackie Coogan in "Huckleberry Finn". As an adult, she was known for her etchings and watercolours.

Doris' father, Victor, was born in London, Ontario and it appears that he, his wife and Doris were living here for a brief time in the 1920s. They are listed in the London City Directories from 1922 to 1926. They later moved to the United States and at the time of the 1930 United States census they were residing in Los Angeles, California.

It's believed that this undated photograph was taken at the Weaver Photography Studio at 1041 West 42nd Place in the Vermont Harbor area of Los Angeles, perhaps ca. 1927-1930.
