A full length portrait of a self-assured costumed man facing the camera. He appears to be standing in front of a painted background.

Notes

On Friday, October 5th, 1894 the London Free Press carried a detailed description of the London Opera Company's Wednesday evening performance in St. Thomas, Ontario of "La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein" composed by Jacques Offenbach. The operetta, directed by Mrs. Harriette Holman and her son Alfred D. Holman, was a familiar work that the Holmans had performed in the past with their professional company, The Holman Opera Troupe. In this amateur performance, W.H. Irvine who appears in this portrait, sang the tenor role of Népomuc.
