Cabinet card portrait of Ibbotson, Woodman, Alice and Estelle Leonard as children.

Notes

These are the children of Frank Elton and Alice Louise (Ibbotson) Leonard and grandchildren of Elijah Jr. and Emeline (Woodman) Leonard. There were two other children in this family - a son, Benjamin Elijah, born in 1881, who died a few days after birth and a daughter, Enid Agatha, born in 1892, perhaps not long after this photograph was taken.

Elijah Leonard Jr. founded E. Leonard & Sons, makers of engines and boilers. He served as London's mayor in 1857.

This portrait was probably taken ca. 1891. Ibbotson was born in 1882, Woodman in 1883, Alice in 1886 and Estelle in 1888.

The Frank Leonard family home, "Oakwood", previously owned by Benjamin Cronyn, was situated at 602 Queens Avenue, the location shown on the map. The Leonard family lived there until around 1930 when it was purchased by the Central Baptist Church.

The photographer's imprint appears beneath the photograph. There is a handwritten inscription on the back.
