- Description
- A glossy print of four men, three in their white lawn bowling apparel, and a fourth wearing a jacket and holding a boater hat standing outdoors. There are six bowls in a netted bag on the ground at their feet. This print is on heavy card. There appear to be ink spatters on the photograph, particularly on the right hand side.
- Notes
- There are two handwritten inscriptions on the back of the photograph.
There is no indication of where or when this photograph was taken or what club these gentlemen played for. The map shows the location of the original Thistle Club Lawn Bowling Club on Piccadilly Street near Richmond Street. The club was established in 1879 and is now located at 25 Beaufort Street. The date of the photograph is a guess. - Inscriptions
