Notes
This photograph is similar to another of our collection's digitized photographs showing the YMCA building on Wellington Street.

This YMCA building was designed by the local firm of Moore and Henry and opened on January 1, 1897. On January 4, 1981, arson caused a $1-million dollar fire in this building. On July 30, 1981 ground was broken for a new Central YMCA-YWCA on the corner of King and Waterloo Streets and this new building opened January 5, 1983. The building on Wellington street has been demolished.

The London Room's index card for this photograph indicates that it was taken ca. 1914. There is no inscription or indication of who the photographer was.

The map shows the location on Wellington Street where this YMCA building once stood.
