NAOMI SPENCE has been transferred to St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville, so she would be closer to her family. Also, MR. BORDEN SLACK was transferred from Carveth to a Nursing Home near Cornwall. New residents to welcome to Carveth are; MRS. DOT LOVEROCK of LYNDHURST and MR. ED BEAUBIAH of IVY LEA. MAY'S CALENDAR HI-LIGHTS included 30 residents and 9 volunteers attending the Shrine Circus on May 6th; Just-for- Fun-Rummage-Auction, May 11th; Slide Show by Mrs. E. Mainse, & Mr. G. Cockrill, May 17th; and a barbecue on May 24th. The "Rummage-Auction" was a huge success thanks to all the volunteers and Staff and especially MR. & MRS. MERTON PHILIPS of Athens! Mr. Philips volunteered his equipment and services as\our auctioneer, and Mrs. Philips worked as cashier. Although ffun money" was used, Mr. Philips claimed that it was one of his largest sales, as the total was $199,305.00. Forty-three of our 49 residents attended the auction, so it was definitely a great event! MERTON has accepted our invitation to auctioneer another afternoon next summer in Gananoque. Henderson - June 22nd Nursing Home Week June lgfgg: Father's Day, June 18th will officially open Nursing Home Week for 1978. It's the regular visiting day of the SalvatiOn Army, so they will be entertaining the folks. Other activities for the week include; daily car drives to the new facility in Gananoque, until every resident has visited the site; a boxed lunch social and square dance outdoors; a teenage fashion show one evening; and an afternoon at the "Saturday Matinee Movie'I to wind up the week. Last month we said that the moving date would be July 1, it has now been changed to August 1, 1978. we are still looking for more volunteer help. If you wish to help us, please telephone 387-3595, and have your name put on the list. We'll also need your address and telephone numbers, so that we may advise you of any changes or of the meeting prior to moving to Gananoque. Carveth will not accept responsibility for anything lost during the move. Therefore, it is essential that everything be labelled before the end of July.
