The car is a 1955 Ford Fairlane

I respectfully disagree... Ford, yes, but 1956. I learned to drive in my brother's (in Kapuskasing), then bought one in 1961. The main difference in the picture is the chrome strip along the sides. Narrow on '55, wider on '56. If you google "1956 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan" you can see it clearly, compared to the slim-strip '55.
