Many had fun at Stonecliffe Carnival
Log sawing contests were won by the team of Sarah Bowes and Mary Lamure for the ladies and Gary Borutski and Lance Buckwalt for the gents. Sarah Bowes and Terry Lamure teamed up to win the mixed log-sawing.
In the nail driving event, first place honours again went to Sarah Bowes and Gary Borutski, while Chris Boudreau was tops for the children.
Snow-golf games were won by George Lamure, Dwayne Donnelly, Mary Lamure and Jennifer Donnelly.
The major draw of the evening for the lucky button and $500 cash went to Harry Jones, Pembroke. Other prize winners on this draw were: Kathy Stewart, Deep River; Mary Lamure, Deep River; Ev Allison, Makcey; Colleen Lance, Deep River; Owen Stewart, Deep River; Myles Buttle, Cobden.
The weather was great and people came in great numbers to celebrate winter at the recent Stonecliffe Carnival. Some 248 snow-machine people took to the trails for the popular poker run. Winners in this event were: 1st - Anne Garrison, Chalk River, King high straight; 2nd - Joan Gra¬ham, Pembroke, Jack high straight; 3rd - Joan Gervais, Pembroke, three Jacks. The youngest participant was Jennifer Yates, Stonecliffe, and Cecil Hutchison of Deep River, claimed the prize for the most senior entry.
