My grandmother Mary Jane Lapointe is buried in Deux Riviere in the graveyard beside the highway. I just recently discovered that and stopped and verified her headstone. She married Ben McQuestion sometime after 1915.

But I believe Ben, and family, ran the lighthouse at McQuestion Point, which is on the property of Atomic Energy of Canada, just down stream from Deep River.

The following information comes from a descendant:James McQuestion, Ben's father, was the original owner/builder of the Lighthouse at McQuestion Point. Ben was not the Lightkeeper.Ben was only 15 when his father died in 1874. His older sister Elizabeth and her husband Roderick McLeod took over operation of the Lighthouse and Stopping Place. Ben moved to Duex Rivières some time later, where he settled and married his first wife Anna McCagherty. They had a son, Victor. After, Annie died. In 1920 Ben married Mary Jane (Emond) Lapointe, widow of Alexandre Lapointe (d 1906) and they stayed in Deux Rivières. Ben and Jane had one son, Maynard, in 1924, who died age 10 in a gun accident. ben died in 1924. So basically, Head, Clara & Maria Townships became their home.
