Says farewell

In his final address to Council, Reeve Art Yates last week thanked everyone for their fine cooperation during the past years and wished the new Council success. He then presented all members of Council and staff with a Christmas gift. Reeve Yates was recently de¬feated by Councillor Loretta Boissonneault, who will shortly take over for the next 2 years.

A recommendation from the Court of Revision that approxi¬mately $600 in outstanding taxes in the Townships of Head, Clara and Maria, be written off, was referred to the incoming Council.

A report from The Constable, Dog Catcher and Building In¬spector revealed 46 dog licenses and 11 Building Per¬mits had been issued in the past year in the Townships.

The Township Community Centre at Stonecliffe will be busy during the next few weeks with Teenage Dances planned for December 13 and January 3, Adult Dance on December 27 and a complete Hockey and Skat¬ing Schedule lined up. James Gagne of Stonecliffe was ap¬pointed Rink Supervisor for the season.

Council voted to increase the wages of Poll Clerk and Deputy Returning Officer for local elections to $10 and $12 - an i increase of $2 for each position.
