because this is pre construction. &flooding of the Ottawa river by the dam .@Rholften/Des Joachins,then there was no long Hilt on the Trans Canada @Deux Rivieres, as the road basically followed the original river shoreline, as did the CPR line.
In my Opinion this pic is just east of Mattawa looking West with Au Clair Lake to right of the road.
The pic is taken from a hillside park or "look out".
Note the person posting by the left guard rail?..my guess female?
This is the old Hwy #17, west of Mattawa. This photo was probably taken from the old lookout on the north side....remnants of the walls still there. Earl's lake on the right. VC
