Ternary services in conuectiou with tht Metbudisi church were held on Snndat last and Christmas Day. Ovriug to the sudden prostration of the Rev. J. W. Holmes, of Owen Sound, to a bed of sickness he was unable to be present a» announced and the pastor was obliged to take the work, and delivered two able and practical sermons. Christmas day was surely "a green Christmas," being a fogey, dreary day in the extreme; liowever, over two hundred put in an apjjearance, and the program was car* ried out in excellent order.. The pro- visions were both abundant and excel- lent iu quality and after full justice was ' done in this line in the spacious base- ment all repaired to the auditorium where the literary and musical portion of the program was much enjoyed. Dr^ Sproule, M. P., was called to the chair, which position he always fills with pleasure and profit to the audiencsand credit to himself this occasion was no exception to the rule. Eevs. Shiltou, B.
