Our usiially quiet village has of late come to the front with a wonderful crop of drunks who make the quiet nigiit hideous with their unearthly yeils and the very air is poisoned with vilo and obscene language, nor is this drinking confined to week days and nights, but the sacredness of the Sab- bath is disturbed by persons parading up and down our streets under the in- fluence of liquor, and while respectable citizens were wending their way to church on Sabbalh night these young men were to be seen and heard under the influence of liquor. Surely the law is very defective, or the Inspector does not attend to his business as he ought to. I certainly think our re- spectable hotel-keepers are not guilty of violating the law so openly. These fellows should be hauled up and made tell where the liquor was obtained, failing to do so imprison them. Now that we are to have incorporation it is to be hoped our town lathers will see to it that persons acting so much out of place shall be dealt with severely.
