G. is well and favorably known by the Flesherton people so that it is not neces- sary for us to recommend him to their confidence. The taffy social at Mr. Whitby's resi- dence on Wednesday night was well at- tended and a very sociable evening spent. An abundance of taffy and soft maple sugar was served up in good shape and evidently much appreciated. The mirthful propensities of the company had full vent and in the midst of the jolification Mr. and Mrs. Whitby landed from the night train after a two months' visit with friends in Leeds county, which added to the pleasure and interest of the party. The Bull was exhibited, at spring show on Friday last and was the "admired of all admirers." He took first prise in his dass. He is about 2^^ years old, and tips the scales at 1795 lbs. Heis,vdthont doubt, the finest animal of his kind ever brought into this section.
