Porter while in Toronto recently, and found him doing a thriving business (Book Store and Stationary) on 353 Yonige St. He has the supply at the Normal School, and does an expnsive business with teachers generally. Those of the profession who read the Standard will doubtless be glad to communicate with their brother chip. We direct the attention of the rea- ders of the Standard to W. A. Brown's change of adv. S. of the Methodist Church was held at the parsonage on the evening of the 89tfa ult. A feehng of sadness pervaded the meeting owing to the removal since last annual meeting, of Mrs. A. McDongall from town and the death of Mrs. 0. W. Rutledge, two erf the most active and ee- teemed officers of the soeiety. Resolo- tions of sorrow were p'wsed at the loss of the former from the societv and village, and the premature demise of the latter.
