Should the iStandabd fail to give eatisfactiun as a local paper, we will Be glad to hear any suggestion our patrons may give, for the improvement ot the paper. "We do not by any means expect to please every body, neither do we ex- pect to adopt every improvement or supposed improvement that may be suggested, yet we may be able to materially improve the paper and pro- .fit by such a course, and we assure you we will use our best endeavoi-s to continue to improve the Standabd eo that it may not loose its popularity. We will continue to send the paper 4;o present subscribers after their sub- «ciiption has expired if we are not notified to discontinue it. The greater majority of subscriptions expire at the end of the year and we trust that very few will allow that time to pass without renewing. Of course there are always some who, for yarious reasons, do not wish to renew however, we hope the number will be mighty small. There is a thousand and one ways whereby our patrons can help to improve the paper, besides being prompt paying subscribers there are incidents happening in every locality which we will be glad to have reported either in writing or verbal, by any subscriber. Now see what you can do for the time to come. Should we receiye an occasional Dominion bank note inclosed with other notes we'll not squeal. aptaii" reports heavy suow storms all the way »*p.
