General Manager COWFEBTIJfO'ME HEATHEIV moody and Sankei^SMecess Jn England's Great metropolis. LoNDON,Dec;23.â€" Moody and Sankey concluded their two weeks' mission at Stepney to-flay. Five immense meetings were held in their hall, and overflow meetings conducted in Step- ney church and Beaumont hall. The interest excited by the mission at Stepney is remarkabk, as there it has reached a lower cla»8 of the popu- lation than heretofore. Fervent and crowded inquiry meetings have been held, and thousands of people have been cobverted. The atteudattcft at the churches in- Stepjoey has been largely increased. The mission ser- vices have been partially suspended until after the holidays, and will be resumed at Clapham, whither the iron mission hall will in the meantime be removed. From Chapham the evangelists will go to Stratford. They have engagements up to July.^^- Worald. Mr. Suth- erland has for nearly thirty years been engaged in the produce trade here. At times his busineis in grain extend- ed to other points, he haying agenc- ies at Meaford. Chatsworth and Wiar- ton. The cause of Mr. Sutherland's failure, we learn, was his late late heavy investments in ties on the Manitoulin Island and elsewhere, and his large vessel interest. Mr. Sutherland li misfortune is keenly felt by the town and the farming community, as he was looked on as the mainstay of the maket here. We have heard many expressions of regret from farmers, and they all hope soon to see him in shape again to do busmees.â€" 0. S.
